TECUMSEH — Tecumseh dominated visiting Ypsilanti Lincoln and posted a 44-15 Southeastern Conference White Division win on the Railsplitters on Sept. 11.

The Indians improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the White Division, while Lincoln dropped to 0-3 and 0-2.

Tecumseh outscored Lincoln 38-3 in the second and third quarters as the Railsplitters had no response to the Indians’ offensive explosion.

“Our group is just focused on the task in front of us each day,” Tecumseh coach Greg Dolson said of his players. “Every day, we are trying to give a 0-0 effort and trying to be 1-0 each Friday night. Nothing more than that. We are working really hard at keeping things simple, playing fast, and starting fast.”

Chance Gormley capped a 12-play, 62-yard drive for the first score of the game, a 1-yard run. The conversion failed, but Tecumseh held a 6-0 lead. Lincoln’s Michael Foley Jr. recovered a Gormley fumble and returned it 43 yards for a touchdown. Lincoln missed the conversion kick but had tied the game at 6-all. 

But from there, Tecumseh took over and dominated the Railsplitters. Gormley managed a 3-yard TD run. Tecumseh stopped Lincoln and executed a quick scoring drive near the end of the first half as Lucas Hartman added a 2-yard TD run, and then Gormley hit Sam Abbott for a 2-point conversion pass for a 20-6 lead.

“I felt like the biggest moment for us was getting a stop right before the half and then executing a big two-minute drive to go up two scores,” Dolson said. 

Lincoln’s Carter Lamb hit a 37-yard field goal just before the half and closed the deficit to 11 points. Tecumseh, however, came out after the break and put Lincoln on its heels.

Nate Bullinger had a 4-yard touchdown, and Ben Andrews added a 2-point conversion run to strike first in the third quarter. Gormley hit Sam Abbott for a 40-yard touchdown, and Gormley added the 2-point run. After Gormley’s 42-yard run and Gabe Abbott’s 2-point conversion pass from Gormley, Tecumseh headed to the fourth quarter with a 44-9 lead. 

Lincoln’s Zerrick Lindsey hit BJ Hawthorne for an 80-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.

“We played great team defense; we played poised in some moments in which we were not at our best,” Dolson said. “We were able to settle down and just focus on the play in front of us, and we played a great second half.”

Gormley rushed for a team-high 159 yards on 14 carries, and he was 10-of-15 passing for 163 yards. Hartman added 12 carries for 73 yards. Sam Abbott caught two passes for 54 yards, and Bullinger added 51 yards on five catches.

“Our RBs Lucas Hartman and Xavier Figel are great complements to Chance, and then you add Sam Abbott or Gabe Abbott, and we are able to stretch teams, both vertically and horizontally,” Dolson said. “Our O-line has played well, and Chance is very prepared.”

Cooper Lewis had a team-high 10 tackles, while Brayden Baur added nine, including a tackle for loss, and Sam Abbott managed eight tackles for Tecumseh. Noah Clarke recorded a quarterback sack, while Sam Spernock added an interception.

“Defensively, we are playing with a chip on our shoulders, and we are attacking,” Dolson said. “I have been very pleased with how physical we are. We have a lot of kids who are competing for spots, and they are getting after it when they are on the field. We need to keep playing with an attitude.”

Addison at Hanover-Horton: The host Comets opened a 35-0 halftime lead en route to a 56-6 Cascades Conference South Division game.

The Panthers dropped to 0-3 and 0-1 in the South Division. Addison hosts Vandercook Lake in another South game on Friday. 

Adrian at Chelsea: A 21-point first-half lead was too much for Adrian to overcome as Chelsea posted a 49-21 Southeastern Conference White Division win over the Maples. 

Adrian dropped to 2-1 and 0-1 in the SEC White Division, as Chelsea improved to 3-0 and 2-0. 

The Bulldogs opened a 14-0 lead before Luke Bruggeman rambled 86 yards for a touchdown and Owen Salenbien tacked on the point after touchdown as Adrian pulled within a score, 14-7.

Chelsea added two more scores and increased its lead to 28-7 at the halftime break. 

Adrian struck first in the second half as Bruggeman went 39 yards for another score, and Salenbien’s PAT made it 28-14, but the host Bulldogs put two more scores on the board in the quarter and carried a commanding 42-14 lead into the final 12 minutes. 

Wyatt Snyder caught a 31-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Fraser for the only score for either team in the fourth quarter. Salenbien’s PAT made the score 42-21.

Bruggeman carried 15 for 196 yards for Adrian and added two receptions for 15 yards. 

The Maples travel to Pinckney for another SEC White Division match-up on Friday. 

Blissfield at Hudson: The host Tigers gained a forfeit win over Blissfield in Lenawee County Athletic Association action. A 2-0 win goes in the record books for Hudson.

The Tigers go to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the LCAA, while Blissfield dropped to 1-2 and 0-2. Hudson hosts Madison in a key LCAA match-up on Friday, while Blissfield welcomes Ida to its field. 

Bellevue at Britton-Deerfield: The Patriots’ Trevor Karpinski sparked his team as they put 38 points on the scoreboard in the first quarter on their way to a 52-14 non-league win over Bellevue.

Britton-Deerfield improved to 2-1, while Bellevue dropped to 0-3. 

Cayden Allshouse started it with a 41-yard touchdown run, and Kaiden Lidster’s 2-point conversion run for the first points. Karpinski added a 35-yard TD run, as Edgar Hazlett caught the 2-point conversion pass from Allshouse. Chase Stetler hit Karpinski for a 59-yard touchdown pass, while Lidster added his second conversion run of the game. Then, Karpinski added a 39-yard TD pass from Allshouse, as Carson Roe tacked on the 2-point conversion run for a 32-0 lead. 

The Broncos scored a touchdown and PAT, but BD answered when Stetler hit Elijah Fortune for a 32-yard pass and a 38-7 lead as the teams headed into the second quarter. 

BD added another score in the second quarter as Karpinski added a 49-yard touchdown run, while Jake Hatfield added a 2-point conversion run as the Patriots held a 46-7 lead at halftime.

Allshouse tacked on a 1-yard TD run in the third quarter as BD took a 52-7 lead into the final frame, where Bellevue added a score in the fourth.

Karpinski finished with 142 yards rushing on six carries, while Allshouse added 92 yards on eight carries as Britton-Deerfield rushed for 302 yards as a team. Chase Stetler was 4-of-6 for 114 yards, while Allshouse went 3-of-4 for 84 yards. Karpinski caught three passes for 133 yards, and Fortune added two receptions for 36 yards. 

Defensively, Fortune recorded 6 tackles, while Roe made 4½ tackles. Allshouse added 3 ½ tackles and an interception. Dominic Willoughby recorded a quarterback sack, and Karpinski had an interception for Britton-Deerfield.

The Patriots host Concord in Southern Central Athletic Association Red Division play on Friday.

Clinton at Dundee: Dacari Garrison scored the first 20 points for the Redwolves, who traveled to Dundee and came away with a commanding 48-0 win over the Vikings.

The Redwolves improved to 3-0 and 2-0 in the LCAA, while Dundee dropped to 0-3 and 0-2. 

“Our offense is starting to execute with better balance at this point in the season, and we are able to get a lot of different players involved,” Clinton coach Casey Randolph said. 

“Defensively, we are starting to play our scheme and techniques better with more communication and being more assertive,” he continued. “The players are extremely coachable, and effort has been tremendous as a team.”

Garrison scored on a 12-yard run and added the 2-point conversion run. Later, he caught an 18-yard pass from Gradyn Whelan for a 14-0 lead. 

Gradyn Whelan hit Garrison for a 39-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter for a 20-0 lead. Bronson Whelan caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Gradyn Whelan, and Jaxon Phillip added a 2-point conversion run for a 28-0 lead at the intermission for Clinton.

Braxton Randolph broke free for a 38-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, while Jaxon Speth kicked the point-after touchdown for a 35-0 lead. Bronson Whelan added a 68-yard TD run as the Redwolves extended their lead. Randolph’s second touchdown of the second half capped the scoring for Clinton, an 18-yard run. Speth’s added his second PAT of the game.

Offensively, Randolph had 108 yards rushing on 11 carries, while Gradyn Whelan added 71 yards on seven carries. Gradyn Whelan was 6-of-12 passing for 128 yards. Garrison finished with four catches for 84 yards, and Bronson Whelan added two catches for 44 yards. 

Randolph, who added a sack, and Jake Halchishak recorded 5 tackles for Clinton, while Jonah Hahn and Jacob Pope each had two sacks. Gradyn Whelan, Roman Roberts, and Paul Blanchard each had a sack as the Redwolves hounded the Dundee quarterback. 

Coach Randolph cited captains senior Owen Wright, junior Gradyn Whelan, junior Braxton Randolph, senior Dacari Garrison, senior Jonah Hahn, and senior Jake Halchishak for their early-season play for the Redwolves. 

“I think our leadership from our captains has been great and stands out to me,” Randolph said. “We have six captains, which is larger than normal, but they all have a role and work well together and with the team.”

Clinton hosts Onsted in LCAA action on Friday. 

Climax-Scotts at Lenawee Christian: The host Cougars scored 13 of the first 21 points of the game, but Climax-Scotts stormed back and scored 26 straight points on its way to a 34-19 non-league win over Lenawee Christian. 

The Cougars fell to 0-3, while Climax-Scotts went to 3-0. 

Drew Kirkendall caught a 45-yard pass from JT Reatherford for LCS, and Sam Feick’s extra point made it 7-0 in the first quarter. But Climax-Scotts answered in the second quarter, taking a brief 8-7 lead. But Reatherford’s 14-yard TD run returned the lead to the Cougars. 

At that point, Climax-Scotts found the end zone more often and tightened its defense on the host Cougars until Kirkendall caught a 19-yard pass from Elijah Paschal in the fourth quarter. 

The Cougars did not have an answer for Alexander Wurtzel, who finished with 28 carries for 314 yards and four touchdowns.

Reatherford had 18 yards rushing on 15 carries, while he was 15-of-24 for 182 yards and a touchdown, and Paschal was 3-of-4 for 36 yards and a touchdown. Drew Kirkendall caught eight passes for 129 yards, while Judah Marine and Judah Penney had four catches each for 41 and 37 yards, respectively. Josiah Atkinson caught two passes for 11 yards.

Wesley Fansler had a team-high 13 tackles and a quarterback sack, while Reatherford added 9½ tackles. Atkinson had 7½ tackles, and Marine made 6½ tackles for LCS. 

Lenawee Christian hosts Southfield Christian on Friday in non-league action. 

Hillsdale at Madison: Krys Ramirez intercepted a Hillsdale pass and ran 18 yards for the touchdown as Madison started fast and finished with a 55-7 win over Hillsdale in Lenawee County Athletic Association action.

The Trojans improved to 3-0 and 2-0 in the LCAA while Hillsdale fell to 0-3 and 0-2.

After Ramirez’s score, Nathan Mullins made the extra point for an early 7-0 lead. 

Derrell Tillman added a 41-yard run for a score, and Mullins’ second PAT made it 14-0. Gio Briggs added after a first-half score for Trojans, taking it a yard for a 20-point lead before Hillsdale reached the end zone. 

At that point, the Trojans reeled off 35 straight points en route to the win.

Tillman added a 1-yard TD run and a 2-point conversion run. Briggs had a 3-yard TD run, as Mullins hit another PAT for a 35-7 lead. De’Lante Garrison caught a 22-yard TD pass from Tillman, and Mullins’ PAT increased their lead. 

Briggs added a 14-yard run with Mullins’ PAT, and Paul Rickard capped the score with a 5-yard TD run as Madison earned a dominating 48-point win. 

Tillman had nine carries for 123 yards, while Briggs added 96 yards on 10 carries. Tillman was 5-of-8 passing for 69 yards, and Rickard was 3-of-3 for 39 yards. Garrison caught three passes for 39 yards, and Chase Horwath added two grabs for 32 yards. 

Defensively, Garrison had 7½ tackles, while Ramirez added 3½ tackles. Pyke Choinski, Maseo Walker, Carlos Velasquez, and Mullins each had 3 tackles for Madison. 

Madison travels to Hudson for an early LCAA showdown on Friday. 

Carsonville-Port Sanilac at Morenci: After a tough road loss the previous week at Mendon, Morenci bounced back and managed a 46-14 non-league win over Port Sanilac. 

The Bulldogs improved to 2-1, while Port Sanilac dropped to 1-2. 

“After an embarrassing display at Mendon, I thought we had a good week of practice, and it carried over into the game,” said Morenci coach Ryan McDowell, whose team fell to Mendon, 58-6. “Carsonville was a new opponent and did some things on offense we needed to be ready for [defensively].”

The host Bulldogs struck first as Skyler Trent scored on a 1-yard run. Later in the first quarter, Mason Cleveland’s 30-yard TD run and Trent’s 2-point conversion run gave Morenci a 14-0 lead. But Port Sanilac answered and cut the deficit to six after 12 minutes. 

“We spent a lot of time preparing for the option and making sure we were playing assignment football on defense,” McDowell said of his team’s planning for Port Sanilac. “They had shifty backs who made us look pretty silly on a few plays.”

However, the Bulldogs put the game away with 32 straight points over the next two quarters. 

Trent began the run with a 36-yard TD and a 2-point conversion run. Cleveland added a 15-yard score, and Brenden Hudik scored on a 2-point conversion run. Drew Joughin hit Trent from 16 yards, and Joughin’s conversion run made it 38-8 at halftime. 

Noah Zuvers, who rushed for 35 yards on five carries, added a 15-yard TD run, and Cleveland’s conversion run gave Morenci a commanding 46-8 lead before Port Sanilac had a late third-quarter TD.

Trent finished with 167 yards on 10 carries, while Cleveland added 85 yards on 11 carries. Joughin went 2-of-2 for 28 yards, while Cleveland added a catch for 12 yards. 

Colsen Waltzer had a team-high 16 tackles for McDowell, while Trent had 12 tackles, including a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery. Zuvers added two fumble recoveries, and Jack Riley managed eight tackles and a fumble recovery. 

“I was pleased with the effort, and we had some young guys who were able to get some snaps,” McDowell said. “It was a good bounce-back game, but we need to improve our blocking and tackling moving forward.”

Morenci travels to Waldron for a SCAA crossover game on Friday. 

Onsted at Ida: The host Bluestreaks earned a 28-0 LCAA win over Onsted. 

The Wildcats dropped to 0-3 and 0-2 in the LCAA, while Ida improved to 2-1 and 1-1. Onsted travels to Clinton in an LCAA matchup on Friday.

Sand Creek at North Central: The Aggies traveled to Pioneer, OH, and fell to the host Eagles, 34-0, in Great Lakes Conference action on Friday.

Sand Creek dropped to 1-2 and 0-1 in the GLC, while North Central improved to 3-0 and 1-0.

North Central put 14 points on the board in each of the first and second quarters against Sand Creek on its way to a 28-0 lead.

An early touchdown in the third quarter for North Central gave the host team a 34-0 lead.

Noah Walters rushed for 132 yards on 13 carries as the Aggies mustered 171 rushing yards against North Central. Jackson Sutherland was 3-of-10 passing for 40 yards, while Carter Bettcher was 1-of-1 for 30 yards. Anthony Murdico caught two passes for 32 yards, while Gavin Eack added one for 30 yards for Sand Creek. 

The Aggies travel to West Unity, Ohio, on Friday and play Hilltop in GLC action.
