‘Fighting Hate’ educational series will focus on lessons from the Holocaust

The Adrian Diversity Event Fund is organizing an educational series titled “Fighting Hate: Lessons Learned from the Holocaust,” which will consist of a number of book studies, learning sessions, and one field trip beginning in late August.

Friends of Watkins Lake State Park plans open house on Aug. 24

The newly formed Friends of Watkins Lake State Park, or FoWL, is inviting the public to an open house on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 2-4 p.m. at Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve near Brooklyn.

Musical playground and StoryWalk to be opened at Gerber Hill Park

Lenawee County will celebrate the opening of a new, fully accessible musical playground and StoryWalk at Gerber Hill Park near Blissfield with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, Aug. 18, at 5 p.m.

Current phase of M-52 work expected to last through Aug. 17

The Michigan Department of Transportation is working this week on resurfacing, joint repairs, and the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalks on M-52 from Church Street to M-34 in Adrian. The work is part of the ongoing M-52 resurfacing project that began in May.
