Adrian Public Schools: The school district is proposing a $27.5 million bond issue to build a community recreation center on the Adrian High School property, and also to make upgrades at the high school performing arts center, which was built about 20 years ago. The recreation center is intended for both school and community use, with public hours being set for times when it is not in use by students.
The bond would be paid for using a 0.65-mill property tax. The impact on the owner of a home assessed at $200,000, with a taxable value of $100,000, would be $65 per year.
See this story for more information about the proposal.
Columbia School District: The Columbia district, which covers the Brooklyn area and extends into part of Lenawee County, is proposing a $14.8 million bond issue to fund a variety of improvements, such as building a new enclosed corridor to connect the district’s elementary buildings, expand classroom space and creating flexible learning environments at elementary schools, fully renovating the Columbia Central auditorium, improving athletic facilities to meet accessibility standards, and addressing building needs such as roofing across the district. The bond would be paid for using a 0.55-mill levy.

Clinton Township Public Library: The Clinton library is proposing a 1-mill levy to fund library operations, since a perpetual millage approved by voters in 1968 is no longer enough to cover library expenses. Witout additional funding the library faces the prospect of cutting back on hours, programming, books, and other services. The library’s property tax funding in 2025 totaled just under $153,000, and the proposed levy would generate about $167,000 in its first year.
