Gleaner plans school supply drive for homeless students

ADRIAN TWP. — Lenawee County residents can help students experiencing homelessness prepare for a better school year by pitching in with a back-to-school supply collection from Aug. 3-7 at Gleaner Life Insurance Society.

Legacy Arbor will also host a special drive-through dropoff from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. Gleaner is located at 5200 W. U.S. 223.

This is the fourth year Legacy Arbor has collected supplies, and its first expansion to invite the community to assist. The annual effort collects school supplies, hygiene products, hairbrushes and combs, gift cards and monetary donations. Monetary donations up to $500 will be matched by a community partner.

In addition to the Aug. 6 drive-through dropoff, residents can bring supplies anytime Aug. 3-7 during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.). For more information, contact Gleaner Life at [email protected] or 800-992-1894.
