ADRIAN — The Lenawee Community Chorus is celebrating its 60th season this year and invites community members to join in the milestone year.

The chorus is Michigan’s oldest continually operating ensemble of its type — a no-audition group comprised of local people of all musical abilities who just love to come together and make music. Music styles range from traditional to contemporary, classical to pop.

Starting Sept. 2, new and returning singers are welcome to join rehearsals on Wednesdays fron 7-9 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1245 W. Maple Ave., Adrian. 

The group will be preparing music for its Dec. 13 “The Light We Share” holiday concert and a Dec. 12 collaboration with Adrian Symphony Orchestra. 

Singers are needed in all voice parts, especially tenors and basses. 

September rehearsals are free to attend for those who are considering becoming a member. Fall session membership fees will be $50 for adults, $30 for students, with scholarships available. An early registration form is available at TinyURL.com/enrollLCC.
