ADRIAN — “Neon Lights and Country Nights” is the theme of this year’s Lenawee County Fair, which opens on July 26.

The fair is held the last week of July every year. The way the calendar falls this year, the last day of the fair will actually be Aug. 1. 

Admission to the fair is $5 per person (free for kids ages 9 and under). Free admission is available to people ages 65 and up on Tuesday, July 28; veterans on Wednesday, July 29; and active-duty military members on any day.

Fair hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Rides on the Midway are available from Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.

Sunday, July 26 (Queens’ Day)

• Fair parade: Lineup begins at 11:30 a.m. along College Avenue and Michigan Avenue west of downtown. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. and proceed east along Maumee Street, through downtown, and end at the fairgrounds.
• 10 a.m.: Sand Creek Community Church service.
• 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Car and bike cruise-in.
• 2 p.m.: Michigan Pedal Pullers in the Grandstand.
• 6 p.m.: Earl Kelly Memorial Pull in the Grandstand.
• 7 p.m.: Lenawee County Fair Queen pageant in the bandshell.

Monday, July 27

• 4 p.m.: 4-H Performing Arts and Project Runway.
• 7 p.m.: Figure 8 car and truck demolition derby in the Grandstand.
• 8 p.m.: 4-H Lip Sync Battle.

Tuesday, July 28 (Senior Citizens’ Day)

• 9 a.m.: 4-H Dog Show.
• 2 p.m.: Elvis tribute artist.
• 2:30 p.m.: Music by Gramberry Jam.
• 7 p.m.: Adrian City Band in the bandshell.
• 7 p.m.: KOI Dirt Drags in the Grandstand.
• 8:30 p.m.: Music by Tommy Sargent in the bandshell.

Wednesday, July 29 (Veterans’ Day)

• 11 a.m.: Veterans’ luncheon in the bandshell.
• 4 p.m.: Queen contestants’ talent revue.
• 6 p.m.: 4-H small animal sale in the Show Barn.
• 7 p.m.: Figure 8 car and truck demo in the Grandstand.
• 7 p.m.: Music by Electrik Mayhem in the bandshell.

Thursday, July 30 (Kids’ Day)

• 3 p.m.: Storm Cheer & Dance in the bandshell.
• 6 p.m.: 4-H dairy feeder calf sale in the Show Barn.
• 7 p.m.: Lost Nations Rodeo in the Grandstand.
• 7 p.m.: Journey tribute by Infinity & Beyond in the bandshell.

Friday, July 31 (Ag Day)

• 1 p.m.: 4-H Food Eating Contest.
• 6 p.m.: 4-H junior livestock sale in the Show Barn.
• 7 p.m.: Diesel and gas truck pull in the Grandstand.
• 7 p.m.: Music by Los Hermanos in the bandshell.

Saturday, Aug. 1 (Merchants’ Day)

• 1 p.m.: Adrian Junior Majorettes in the bandshell.
• 2:30 p.m.: MST Dance Studio in the bandshell.
• 4 p.m.: Bark’s Tales in the bandshell.
• 7 p.m.: Tuff Truck & Car Competition in the Grandstand.
• 7 p.m.: Music by JTE in the bandshell.
