CLINTON — Voters in the Clinton area approved a new millage for the Clinton Township Public Library on May 5.

The 1-mill levy is expected to generate about $167,000 per year initially. It will fund general library operations in addition to a perpetual millage that was enacted by voters in 1968. The new operating levy is for 10 years.

The total was 379 votes for the proposal to 285 against.
