ADRIAN — Aaron Chesher, a candidate for city commissioner, is organizing a series of events in which residents can come together to improve city parks while also having conversations about different topics related to the city and community.
The series of 10 events, each of which takes place on a Sunday from noon to 2 p.m., will begin Aug. 24.
The dates, parks, and topics to be discussed are:
- Aug. 24 — Island Park; youth programs and activities.
- Aug. 31 — Trestle Park; expanding recreational opportunities.
- Sept. 7 — Monument Park; housing and neighborhood improvement.
- Sept. 14 — Riverside Park; community safety and policing.
- Sept. 21 — Dunlap Park; public events and cultural celebrations.
- Sept. 28 — Fee Park; how to make parks safer and more inviting.
- Oct. 5 — Burr Ponds Park; environmental protection and green projects.
- Oct. 12 — Comstock Park; transportation, roads and sidewalks.
- Oct. 19 — Parish Park; volunteerism and civic engagement.
- Oct. 26 — Dana Park; open forum on Adrian’s future.
Residents are invited to bring gloves to wear while picking up litter. Trash bags will be provided.
