Arrest made in 2024 hit-and-run that seriously injured Adrian teen

ADRIAN — An Adrian woman was arraigned on Aug. 20 in connection with the hit-and-run accident last year that left a local teenager fighting for his life.

Felisha Racine Madison

Felisha Racine Madison, 39, was charged with failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in significant impairment, which is a felony.

Dakota Courington of Adrian, who is now 16, was riding his bicycle on Aug. 9, 2024, when he was hit by a car at the intersection of Clinton and Chestnut streets. The vehicle knocked him off of his bike, ran over him, and fled the scene. He suffered severe brain injuries and spent several weeks in a medically induced coma. He still needs a ventilator, and while he recently regained the ability to swallow, he still cannot speak or walk.

The Adrian Police Department was assisted by members of the Michigan State Police Fugitive Apprehension Team and United States Marshals Service.
