ADRIAN — The Michigan Department of Transportation is working this week on resurfacing, joint repairs, and the installation of ADA-compliant sidewalks on M-52 from Church Street to M-34 in Adrian. The work is part of the ongoing M-52 resurfacing project that began in May.

Road closure to through traffic began on Monday, Aug. 11, and is expected to continue through Sunday, Aug. 17.

Traffic is being detoured via on M-34 (Beecher Street), U.S. 223, and West Maumee Street.

Drivers should expect delays. Alternate routes are advised.

According to MDOT, the purpose of the project is to provide drivers with a smoother, safer driving surface and make the sidewalks along M-52 more accessible for all users.
