
ADRIAN — Twelve young women will compete for the title of Lenawee County Fair Queen on opening night of the fair. The 2025 competition will take place on Sunday, July 20, at 7 p.m. in the new bandshell.
These are the candidates, listed in order of their contestant number.
Brooke Robinson, 18, of Blissfield, is the daughter of Reggie and Brittney Robinson. She will be a senior at Blissfield High School next year. Her talent will be a vocal performance, and her platform is mental, verbal and physical abuse. Her sponsor is Heat Wave Salon.
Denae Covey, 19, of Adrian is the daughter of Keith and Deena Covey. She is a graduate of Sand Creek High School and currently attend Adrian College. Her talent will be a clarinet solo, and her platform is increasing youth involvement in 4-H. She is sponsored by the All Around Equestrian 4-H Club.
Bianca Miller, 19, of Onsted is the daughter of Jesse and Ashley Miller. She is a graduate of Onsted High School and currently attends Michigan State University. Her talent will be a drum performance and her platform is the Society For Women’s Health Research. She is sponsored by the Miller family.
Isabella Gibbs, 17, of Onsted is the daughter of Scott and Sharon Gibbs. She will be a senior at Onsted High School next year. Her talent will be a piano solo and her platform is children’s mental health awareness. She is sponsored by Play and Stay Pet Resort.
Mikaela Gray, 17, of Onsted is the daughter of Michael and Melissa Gray. She is a senior at Onsted High School and her talent will be a contemporary dance. Her platform is environmental conservation. She is sponsored by MST Dance Center.
Grace Appling, 20, of Britton is the daughter of Bruce and Gloria Appling. She is a graduate of Memoria Academy and currently attends Adrian College. Her talent will be a vocal performance. Her platform is the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is sponsored by Thelma’s Opal.
Clara Bumpus, 19, of Onsted is the daughter of Ryan and Christine Bumpus. She is a graduate of Onsted High School and currently attends Jackson College. Her talent will be a speech about Type 1 Diabetes. Her platform is insulin affordability. She is sponsored by Rome Blue Ribbons 4-H Club.
Gretchen Gautz, 19, of Adrian is the daughter of Heidi Gautz. She is a graduate of Onsted High School and currently attends Michigan State University. Her talent will be spoken word and her platform is the National Ag Safety Database. She is sponsored by Hoddinott Acres and Carpet Outlet Plus.
Tanana Emmendorfer, 19, of Adrian is the daughter of Eric and Rikki Carson-Emmendorfer. She is a graduate of Sand Creek High School and currently attends Spring Arbor University. Her talent will be a trombone solo. Her platform is mental health awareness in student athletes. She is sponsored by Beth Jessee and Castleberry & Lucas Attorneys at Law.
Abyona Freeman, 18, of Clinton is the daughter of Joseph and Carla Freeman. She is a graduate of Clinton High School and will attend Bowling Green State University in the fall. Her talent will be a vocal performance and her platform is free preschool for 4-year-olds in Michigan. She is sponsored by Alaina’s Children’s Center.
Allison Brockway, 17, of Clayton is the daughter of Brad and Rachel Brockway. She is a homeschool senior and also attends the LISD Tech Center. Her talent will be a vocal performance. Her platform is quality childcare. She is sponsored by Bethany Kids Learning Center.
Michaela Cross, 18, of Adrian is the daughter of Deanna and Brian Cross. She is a graduate of Madison High School and currently attends Jackson College. Her talent will be a French Horn solo. Her platform is “Eat Well, Live Well: Nutrition Within Reach.” She is sponsored by Palmyra Future Leaders 4-H Club.
