WOODSTOCK TWP. — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office says that a child died on Sunday afternoon after she was struck by a riding lawnmower.

Deputies responded at 4:52 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, to a report from the 11000 block of Herold Highway in Woodstock Township. Emergency Services transported the child to the hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Deputies said the homeowner, who is the girl’s grandmother, was mowing the lawn and was unaware that the child was outside when the accident occurred.
