MANITOU BEACH — The Adrian Center for the Arts announced in October that it will be expanding its programs through the addition of the Manitou Beach Creative Corner.
The Manitou Beach program was founded in 2018 by local art educator Jean Lash, offering summer art programs for area youth. It will remain at Devils Lake and will now be known as ACA’s Creative Corner at Manitou Beach.
The ACA plans to expand the Manitou Beach program beyond summer camps, offering year-round arts education for both youth and adults, according to a news release. Lash will remain involved with the program and will continue teaching youth summer camps.
The Adrian Center for the Arts was founded in 2015. It grew out of the Lenawee Council for Visual Arts, and for the past 10 years has operated a campus in Adrian on the site of the former Adrian Training School. The Creative Corner represents an additional location and a way to bring Adrian Center for the Arts programming to a new area while continuing a Manitou Beach tradition.
ACA’s Creative Corner at Manitou Beach will open in May 2027.
