New clubs forming at Adrian District Library

ADRIAN — The Adrian District Library is launching three new clubs that will meet at the library.

Book Dragons Jr. — This is a reading club for kids ages 5–12. The program has two parts. Kids can turn in reading logs anytime in the youth services department to earn dragon-themed trading cards, and club members can also gather at a monthly meeting held the first Thursday of each month, beginning Sept. 3, from 5–6 p.m. The more kids read, the bigger their dragon card collection will grow, and a new set of dragon families will be introduced each month, so there’s always something new to collect. At the monthly meetings, club members can participate in different fun activities.

Pokémon Club — A monthly Pokémon Club for kids will meet on the third Thursday of each month, beginning on Sept. 17, from 5-6 p.m.  This club is for kids ages 5-12 and each meeting will have games, activities and the opportunity to trade and play the Pokémon trading card game.

All Ability Story & Activity Club — This club will launch on Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and then will meet on the second Tuesday of each month beginning in October. It will include stories, movement and an activity or craft. Activities are designed for adults and teens ages 15 and older, with all abilities in mind.

All the clubs are free. The library is located at 143 E. Maumee St. in downtown Adrian. For more information, call 517-265-2265.
