CLINTON — The Clinton branch of TLC Community Credit Union has moved to a new, larger location in the former Comerica at 169 W. Michigan Ave.

The credit union celebrated the move with a grand opening ceremony on March 21.

“We’re really happy to be downtown in the historic area,” said April Eggert, TLC’s assistant vice president of marketing and community engagement.

In addition to being more visible — the old branch was on Tecumseh-Clinton Road, while the new one is right on U.S. 12 — the additional space available at the new location allowed TLC to build a training center that will be used for employees from all of the credit union’s locations.

The branch offers full-service banking services. In addition, what looks like an ATM outside is actually more than just an automated teller machine — it’s also an ITM, or interactive teller machine, where members can pull up and be connected by video to employees at TLC’s Adrian customer service center.

One prominent feature inside the branch is a mural on the front wall with images from Clinton’s history. That’s something that the credit union has started doing whenever it renovates or adds a new branch; similar murals can be seen at the Dundee, Lambertville and Brooklyn branches as well as the recently renovated main branch in Adrian.
