ADRIAN — Madisyn O’Neal, a senior at Lumen Christi Catholic School in Jackson, won the top prize of $250 in the 2026 Lenawee County Right to Life Oratory contest on March 6 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adrian.
O’Neal, who is from Parma, will advance to the state Right to Life oratory contest which will be held on April 18 in Lansing.
“At one point in history, every single one of us in this room existed in complete silence. We were unseen, unnamed, and entirely dependent. And yet — we were already human,” O’Neal said in her winning speech.
There are 26 Michigan Right to Life groups sponsoring oratory contests this spring.
Second place in the contest went to Katie Mitchell, a homeschool student from Adrian, and Elyse Chase, a junior at Berean Baptist Academy, placed third.
