FRANKLIN TWP. — The trees may still be bare, but spring is in full bloom inside the conservatory at Hidden Lake Gardens as the botanical garden hosts its annual Spring Flower Show.
The flower show opened March 1 and runs through March 29. The hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays, and closed on Mondays.
This year’s theme for the Hidden Lake Gardens Spring Flower Show is “Legacy in Bloom: Honoring 100 Years of Growth and Inspiration.” Adrian businessman Harry Fee purchased 200 acres of land surrounding the “Hidden Lake” in 1926, and this was the land that eventually became Hidden Lake Gardens.
The gardens will be open for a special after-hours evening on Friday, March 27, until 7 p.m., with last admission at 6:30 p.m. From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., guests can join a walk‑and‑talk program on forcing bulbs for indoor bloom. This immersive experience will guide participants through the behind-the-scenes process of bulb forcing and provide a rare look into Conservatory areas not usually open to the public. This event is part of Hidden Lake Gardens’ Friday After Five series.
