Lenawee County Democrats plan candidate event

ADRIAN — The Lenawee County Democratic Party is planning a candidate meet-and-greet with the party’s nominees for various local offices from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Island Park, 1090 N. Broad St., Adrian.

The candidates who are scheduled to attend are:

  • Libbi Urban, who is running against incumbent Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Tipton) for Michigan’s 5th Congressional District.
  • John Dahlgren, who is running for Michigan’s 34th House District, which includes most of Lenawee County. The Republican nominee is former Rep. Nancy Jenkins-Arno.
  • Bill Swift, who is running against incumbent Republican David Stimpson for the Tecumseh-area District 1 seat on the Lenawee County Commission.
  • James Daly, who is unopposed in Lenawee County Commission District 5, which consists of the east side of Adrian.
  • Andrew Winckles, who is running against incumbent Republican Terry Collins in Lenawee County Commission District 6, which consists of the west side of Adrian.
