Lenawee County Fair receives state grant for livestock barn improvements

ADRIAN — A $100,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will help fund livestock barn improvements at the Lenawee County Fair and Event Grounds, 602 N. Dean St.

Heather Downs, office manager for the fairgrounds, said the grant — which must be matched by $85,000 in local funding — will go into improving the steer, lamb, rabbit, poultry and dairy barns.

The Lenawee County Fair was one of 18 sites chosen to receive capital improvement funding in the 2024 grant cycle, according to a statement from MDARD. The grants were awarded through a competitive process.
