MADISON TWP.  — Michaels, a chain of arts and crafts stores that operates about 1,300 locations across the U.S. and Canada, plans to open an Adrian location next summer.

Rebecca Talley, external communications specialist for the company, said the store is scheduled to open in mid-July in Crossroads Plaza, 1416 S. Main St. The store will be hiring for “dozens of temporary, full- and part-time roles over the course of the year,” she said.

Other businesses in the plaza include Staples and Big Lots, and it is the former location of the Adrian Kmart, which closed in 2017.
